Questions
Does the extension read or send my text anywhere?+
No. All cleaning happens on your computer. Nothing you copy or paste is sent to us or anyone else, and none of it is stored. The only network request is a once-a-day check with removeaiwatermarking.com to see whether your account is Pro.
Which permissions does it ask for, and why?+
storage (your settings and the trial date), contextMenus (the right-click Clean item), clipboardWrite (to put cleaned text on your clipboard), activeTab and scripting (to read the selection on the tab you right-clicked, only when you click), and access to the six AI chat sites where auto-clean runs. It does not ask for access to all websites, your history or your clipboard contents.
How is Pro verified?+
Copy the license key from your account page and paste it into the extension popup. The extension checks it with removeaiwatermarking.com once a day. If you're already signed in to the website, it can pick up your Pro status from there.
Is there a free trial of auto-clean?+
Yes. Every new install gets 7 days of automatic clean on copy. After that it is part of Pro, $7 a month or $49 a year.
Does it work in Edge, Brave or other browsers?+
Yes. Microsoft Edge, Brave, Opera, Vivaldi and Arc can install extensions from the Chrome Web Store. Firefox and Safari aren't supported yet.
Does it change my words or hide that I used AI?+
No. It removes invisible characters and formatting leftovers. Your wording stays exactly as it was, and it does nothing to AI detectors.
