Remove location and metadata from videos
See where a video was filmed and on what device, then download a copy without that data. Same picture and sound, no re-encoding.
Free to start · No card needed · Files never leave your device

MP4 · MOV · M4V. Processed on your device, never uploaded.
What's stored in a video file
Phones and cameras write the GPS location, device make and model, software version and recording date into MP4 and MOV files. Action cameras like GoPro can store a full GPS track of where you went while filming.
Why there's no quality loss
The tool edits the file's structure rather than the video itself. Metadata boxes are removed and the index is updated, while the encoded video and audio are copied as they are. It's fast even on long clips.
How it works

Questions
Do iPhone videos store my location?+
Yes, if location access was on for the Camera app. The MOV or MP4 file stores the GPS coordinates where you started filming, plus the phone model, iOS version and the date and time.
Does removing metadata lower the video quality?+
No. The video and audio are not re-encoded. Only the metadata boxes in the file's header are taken out, so the picture and sound are byte for byte the same and cleaning takes seconds even for long clips.
Which videos work?+
MP4, MOV and M4V files from iPhones, Android phones, GoPro and most cameras and editing apps. Timed metadata tracks, such as GoPro GPS data, are removed too.
Don't social apps remove this anyway?+
Some do, many don't. Email, cloud links, AirDrop, messaging apps that send the original file and marketplace listings often keep the location. Cleaning it first means you don't have to wonder.
Are my files uploaded?+
No. The tool runs inside your browser tab and reads the file from your device. Nothing is sent to us or anyone else, which is also why it works quickly on big files.
Is it free?+
Yes. Free covers 5 files a day up to 30 MB each, one at a time. Pro is $7 a month and removes the daily limit and the size cap, and lets you drop in whole batches.
