Questions
What is metadata?+
Extra information stored inside a file: where and when a photo was taken, the camera or phone, the author of a PDF, the software used and sometimes a full edit history. It travels with the file when you share it.
Are my files uploaded?+
No. Files open inside your browser and are cleaned on your device. We never receive them.
Does removing metadata change how my image looks?+
No. Images are redrawn at full resolution with the same pixels. Photos taken sideways are rotated correctly first so they display the same way everywhere.
Which files are supported?+
JPG, PNG, WebP and PDF today. More formats are on the way.
Can I use this on files that aren't mine?+
Only clean files you own or have the right to edit. Removing copyright or credit information from someone else's work can break the law. See our fair-use terms.
