Remove GPS location from a photo
See whether your photo reveals where it was taken, then download a copy with the location removed.
Free to start · No card needed · Files never leave your device
or drop a file, or paste with Ctrl/⌘ + V
JPG · PNG · WebP · PDF · MP4 · MOV. Processed on your device, never uploaded.
Does my photo have location data?
If location access was on when you took it, probably yes. Drop it in above: GPS shows up in red under 'Private info' if it's there.
Why it matters
A photo of your home, your kids or your car can reveal your address to anyone you send it to. Email, messaging apps and file sharing often keep this data.

Questions
What is metadata?+
Extra information stored inside a file: where and when a photo was taken, the camera or phone, the author of a PDF, the software used and sometimes a full edit history. It travels with the file when you share it.
Are my files uploaded?+
No. Files open inside your browser and are cleaned on your device. We never receive them.
Does removing metadata change how my image looks?+
No. Images are redrawn at full resolution with the same pixels. Photos taken sideways are rotated correctly first so they display the same way everywhere.
Which files are supported?+
Photos in JPG, PNG and WebP, PDF documents, and MP4 or MOV videos. Word files have their own Word Document Cleaner, and iPhone HEIC photos can be turned into clean JPGs with HEIC to JPG.
Can I use this on files that aren't mine?+
Only clean files you own or have the right to edit. Removing copyright or credit information from someone else's work can break the law. See our fair-use terms.
